Non-Fiction Book Consultations
For writers in the early, formative stages of a nonfiction book — you have an idea, or a pile of material, but the shape of the book isn't clear yet. I can work with you to determine whether you’ve got a viable book concept, sharpen your ideas, define the book's core themes and arc, and identify next steps to move your project forward. This isn't a manuscript or proposal review — it's a generative working session to help you get from "I think there's a book here" to being able to say what the book actually is.
Concept / Strategy Session
$500 — single 60-minute call (recorded, for your use)
We'll talk through your idea live: what the book is, who it's for, and where your material actually wants to go. If it's helpful, you may send over your notes or material ahead of time (up to 10 pages), which I'll review before we talk.
$1,000 — two 60-minute calls, spaced 1–3 weeks apart (recorded, for your use)
For ideas that need more than one conversation to take shape. We'll talk through your idea live: what the book is, who it's for, what's already out there, and where your material actually wants to go. If it's helpful, you can send over your notes or material ahead of time (up to 10 pages), and I'll review it before we talk.
Book Proposal Review
I'll give you a strategic, detailed read on your proposal: what's working, what isn't, and what it'll take to get it in front of agents and editors.

I'll read your complete proposal, including up to 40 pages of sample chapter material, and send you a written editorial letter with section-by-section notes — overview, comps, audience, author bio, marketing, and chapter outline — plus my honest read on whether the sample pages deliver on what the pitch promises. I'll also mark up your proposal directly with margin notes and suggestions.
